How do I learn to skate?
Learning to skate is actually quite easy and fun. It requires a little determination, a lot of practice and no fear of falling down! Before you know it, you will be gliding around -- forward and backwards -- able to show off to your family and friends what you can do on the ice. Whether your goal is to learn to go backwards, land a Salchow, spin really fast, improve your hockey skating skills, or even a triple Axel, we've got just the place for you to start! Remember, every champion had to begin with a few easy lessons...just like you.

Tots - Tots class (age 2-5) is designed to help the preschool & younger skater develop coordination on the ice with the incorporation of games and toys. Making a very fun environment for the young skater. This is an entry level class for children who have not skated before. One parent required on ice, in shoes to assist skater. Skaters must start in a skate with a toe pick, for safety and development reasons.
Basic Skills 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, (Ages 6-18) The first stage of skills forms a strong foundation for your skaters to explore the world of skating. All will progress at their own pace working toward mastering each skill. Active Start encourages skaters to trade in hesitation for excitement as they grow a love for skating. Freeskate 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6 Each Free Skate level is divided into three sections: skating skills, spins and jumps. The levels are designed to give skaters a strong foundation and it is at this point the skater can choose to pursue a recreational or competitive approach to the sport of figure skating.
Hockey 1, 2, 3, & 4- (Pass Snowplow Sam 1-4, and Basic 1 or equivalent first) Designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating, the four badge levels, plus power skating, will teach skaters how to be more proficient and agile on the ice. Proper techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus and all elements are taught without a puck. Skaters will learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend, and other necessary fundamentals to be successful.Bike helmets required, Hockey equipment not required.
Adult 1, 2, 3, & 4 -The adult curriculum is designed for the beginning adult skater. It will promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques. Adult skaters will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated.
